Caring for your candle
Caring for your candle
Caring for your candle properly ensures you get the most out of it, from a long burn time to even melting. Here are some essential tips for keeping your candle in top shape:
1. Trim the Wick
Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps prevent the candle from burning too hot, which can lead to an uneven burn or soot. It also helps the candle last longer.
2. Burn in Intervals
When lighting your candle, burn it for at least 2-3 hours at a time, but no more than 4 hours. This ensures the wax melts evenly across the surface, preventing tunneling (when the center burns down too much, leaving wax on the sides).
3. Keep Away from Drafts
Place your candle away from drafts, fans, or air conditioners. These can cause uneven burning, flickering, or even a faster burn time.
4. Avoid Touching the Wax
Don’t touch the melted wax. It can get messy, and the hot wax might cause burns. Let it cool and harden before moving the candle.
5. Store Properly
When you're not using your candle, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the wax from fading or melting.
6. Keep the Candle Clean
If you get dust or debris on the top of the candle, carefully remove it. You can use a soft cloth or cotton swab to gently wipe the surface, making sure you don’t disrupt the wick.
7. Extinguish the Candle Safely
Avoid blowing out your candle, as it can cause wax splatter and soot. Instead, use a wick dipper or a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame.
8. Burn to the End
When burning your candle, try to burn it until there’s about 1/2 inch of wax left in the vessel. Don’t burn the candle all the way down to the bottom, as this can cause the container to overheat and become a fire hazard.
9. Repurpose or Recycle the Container
Once the candle has burned down, clean out the remaining wax and repurpose the container for storage or decoration. Many containers can be reused or recycled.

Important Safety Notice:
Candles pose a fire hazard if not used responsibly. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, always follow proper candle care and safety precautions. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep candles out of reach of children and pets
How to Prevent Candle Fires
- Never leave a candle burning unattended, even for a short period. Always extinguish candles before leaving the room or going to sleep.
Ensure that candles are placed on a flat, stable surface, away from anything flammable (like curtains, paper, or clothing). - Avoid placing them near drafts, vents, or air currents.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets to avoid accidents. Curious hands or paws can easily knock over a candle. - A wick that is too long can cause an uneven or dangerously high flame. Trim your candle wick to 1/4 inch before each burn to avoid flickering and excessive heat..Always use a proper candle holder or vessel that can contain melted wax and keep the candle upright. Never burn candles in containers that are cracked or damaged..
- Use a candle snuffer or wick dipper to safely extinguish the flame. Avoid blowing out a candle, as this can cause hot wax to splatter..Stop burning your candle when there’s about 1/2 inch of wax left to prevent the risk of overheating the container or the base catching fire.
- Keep all flammable objects such as paper, cloth, or furniture at least 12 inches away from a lit candle. Avoid lighting candles near anything that can easily catch fire.
- Make sure the candle is free of any dust, matches, or other debris that could catch fire. Clean the top of the candle regularly.
- Burn your candle in a well-ventilated area to avoid any accumulation of smoke or fumes. Never burn candles in a completely sealed room.
By following these safety tips, you can enjoy the warmth and ambiance of your candles safely while minimizing the risk of fire. Stay vigilant and use candles responsibly! 🔥
